What’s new?

On January 27 2025, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) received a proposal from France for a new harmonised classification and labelling for Hexamethylindanopyran (CAS 1222-05-5), including a classification as Reprotoxic 1B and a code H360Df (May damage the unborn child. Suspected of damaging fertility).

Hexamethylindanopyran is used in cosmetic products as a fragrance and perfuming agent and is currently restricted in Annex III/336 to the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009.
